Screening of the documentary \u201cLuxleaks: the Antoine Deltour Case\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Two whistleblowers revealed the Luxleaks scandal in November 2014. Thanks to Antoine Deltour and Raphael Halet and the support of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), we learned about sweetheart tax deals (so-called \u201ctax rulings\u201d) that the auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers concluded with the Luxembourgish tax authorities on behalf of at least 350 large companies.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Antoine Deltour and Raphael Halet, together with Edouard Perrin, the first journalist revealing the Luxleaks story, are facing trial again in Luxembourg. The two whistleblowers were convicted with suspended time during their first trial while the journalist was cleared. But following the appeal by Luxembourg, all three will have to go back to the courtroom on 12 December 2016.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Members of the European Parliament Alain Lamassoure (EPP), Pervenche B\u00e9res (S&D), Jean-Marie Cavada (ALDE), co-rapporteur of the European Parliament report on whistleblowers, Pascal Durand (Greens \/ EFA), Sven Giegold (Greens \/ EFA) and Philippe Lamberts (Greens \/ EFA) are pleased to invite you to the screening of the documentary \u201cLuxleaks: the Antoine Deltour case\u201d.<\/p>\n

The screening will take place in the European Parliament on Tuesday 6th of December 2016, from 18:30 to 21:30 (room A1G3) in presence of the two documentary directors, Julie Bruchert and Gabriel Laurent. The documentary will be screened in French. It will be followed by a debate with the documentary directors and the MEPs on whistleblowers protection in Europe.<\/p>\n
