The Special Committee of the European Parliament against tax avoidance is currently working on its final report. Since February the committee has investigated the harmful tax practices of big transnational corporations and the complicity of some EU member states. The committee held hearings with several experts, stakeholders and Commissioners and visited some countries known for tax dodging.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, members states did not provide all requested documents and only some companies appeared in front of the committee. However, the final report of the special committee is a welcome occasion to hint to the major problems and to make proposals for corrections.<\/p>\n
