The ECON Committee held a public consultation on that topic in 2013 and the resulting conclusions and intended steps are presented in the report. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One major complaint is that the regulations are not coherent, since some existing regulations overlap or contradict each other.\u00a0 Another field of improvement is the coordination of the Commission both inside and between Directorate Generals. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Overall this document points out key legislative steps\u00a0that the ECON Committee would like to make in the near future.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">You can find the summary <a href=\"https:\/\/sven-giegold.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/ECON-Enhancing-the-coherence-of-EU-Financial-Services-Legislation.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear friends and colleagues, The Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) of the European Parliament has published a\u00a0report on measures of how to enhance the coherence of EU financial services legislation.
