The first World Social Forum took place in 2001. It is designed to create a platform for the exchange of ideas between people from all over the world. The program offers a huge diversity of topics\u00a0and covers issues from women&#8217;s rights and youth participation to employment, education, environment and North-South-relations.<\/p>\n<p>The Greens will be focusing on future energy supply and\u00a0the role of the European parliament in contributing to peace building in North Africa and Sahel. Also,\u00a0we will show that\u00a0there have already been Green answers to the\u00a0contradictory EU migration policy,\u00a0unlimited market liberalization and austerity policies in the global crisis.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0especially look forward to our planned workshops: Together with the Heinrich-Boell Foundation, we invite you\u00a0to a workshop on \u00ab\u00a0Which kind of\u00a0energy supply does a developing democracy need? Which kind of democracy does a good energy supply need?\u00a0\u00bb on 29\u00a0March from 9:30 am to 1 pm in\u00a0Hotel Belv\u00e9d\u00e8re, 10 Avenue des Etats Unis d\u2019Am\u00e9rique. Also, the Greens have prepared a party! It will take place on 28 March, 7 pm,\u00a0in Hotel Belv\u00e9d\u00e8re as well. Moreover, I look forward to meeting many of my friends of Attac. On 28 March, from 4\u00a0pm to 6:30\u00a0pm in room M211,\u00a0I\u00a0will take part in the Attac workshop \u201cDemocracy and the power of central banks\u201d\u00a0and present my view inside from the European Parliament with regard to the European Central Bank (ECB). Moreover, I will participate\u00a0in the global meeting of parliamentarians.
