Dear friends, dear all,
The German coalition agreement offers a real opportunity for a fresh start for Germany and Europe. That was the goal for us Greens in the negotiations which we reached in many areas – while in some we did not. As a member of the main negotiating group on behalf of the Green MEPs and the Finances and Budget working group, I had the chance to negotiate good compromises right up to the end.
At the same time, with the change of government in Berlin, a change is coming for me personally. Now that the Green Party members have overwhelmingly voted for the coalition agreement and the personnel tableau, I will move to the Greens-led Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection as State Secretary.
Hence my warm invitation: Let’s talk about what you expect from us and me in Berlin. Because the fresh start in climate and the environment, in social politics and for Europe must not remain an empty phrase on the cover of the coalition agreement.
