Invitation – Online Conference | Structural Racism: Italian and German Perspectives in Exchange, Tuesday 14.07. 20-22

Limited seats, register right here.

Dear friends, dear interested,

the structural dimension of racist discrimination has become the focus of public debate as a result of the worldwide Black Lives Matter demonstrations. Demands for a holistic approach to the issue are being voiced not only in the USA but also in Europe.

One thing is clear: racism affects us all, individually and as a society – a discussion of the topic in society as a whole is therefore urgently needed.

But what structures are meant when we talk about structural racism? How do these structures of racist discrimination, some of which are invisible to the majority of society, affect access to education, the labour market or the judiciary? How can racism be identified in public institutions, in politics, in the security forces or even in media reporting? And how can we actively and purposefully stand up for an equal and anti-racist Europe?

Among other things, we will try to find answers to these questions together with our guests.

The aim of the evening is thus to make structures of racist discrimination more visible and to consider together where we can take action at European level to break up these structures in the long term.

When? On Tuesday, 14.07.2020 from 20:00 to 22:00
