Dear friends, dear interested,

Together 65 economists and public figures from Italy and Germany will publish a new call for proposals on Monday. We call for a refinancing of the Corona reconstruction programme by curbing tax dumping and money laundering in Europe.

We want to publicly discuss our German-Italian demands in a public webinar with the responsible EU Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni and the well-known Italian economist Prof. Tito Boeri on

Monday, 8 June 2020, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

In the past, a lack of European unity has limited progress towards a common tax policy and a determined fight against financial crime. Given the scale of this corona crisis and the increasing national debt, we call for a comprehensive zero tolerance policy against money laundering, tax fraud and tax dumping in Europe. In the webinar we will present and discuss with you our five key measures for such a zero tolerance policy. We will also present a strategy on how we can enforce our demands despite unanimity voting on EU tax issues.

Our podium:

  • Paolo Gentiloni, EU Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs
  • Prof. Tito Boeri, Bocconi University, President (ret.) “Istituto Nazionale Previdenza Sociale (INPS)
  • Franziska Brantner, Member of the Bundestag, Spokeswoman for European Policy
  • Sven Giegold, MEP, Chairman of the Greens in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON)
