Dear friends, dear interested,
The last few weeks have emphatically shown that we can only successfully tackle the coronavirus and the associated economic crisis with European solidarity, not with national egoisms. At the beginning, the EU member states did not stick together, closed the borders and didn’t help each other medically. Many people on the ground continued to work together, sang together on the balconies in the evening, showed solidarity online and helped their neighbours. We in Europe now need this cohesion politically and economically. Because we are in this crisis together and can only get out of it together.
That is why we – as convinced Europeans from Italy and Germany – are committed to a new culture of cohesion. After our broad Italian-German call www.weareinthistogether.eu the next step is this: We invite authors from Italy and Germany to a joint discussion on how they see Europe in the crisis, what they expect from Europe now, but also what they would like to contribute themselves. We invite you to be part of this discussion and to contribute your own ideas on
Tuesday, 26.5.2020 from 19:00 to 21:00 CEST
We are especially pleased that we could win a top-class German-Italian panel on this topic:
- Claudio Caiolo, actor
- Francesca Melandri, writer
- Jagoda Marinić, writer
- Wolfgang Schorlau, writer
Our interactive webinar format allows all participants to ask oral and written questions and thus contribute their own ideas to the discussion. The webinar will be held in Italian and German with simultaneous oral translation.
As space is limited, it is best to register right here!
Please share the invitation with anyone who might be interested! We are looking forward to an exciting discussion with you.
With solidarity and European greetings
Alexandra Geese, Sven Giegold and Franziska Brantner
P.S.: Our initiative www.weareinthistogether.eu is now supported by almost 25,000 people. 335 are still missing up to the threshold of 25.000. Please make our Italian-German initiative even better known!
