Dear friends, dear interested,

 

The last few weeks have emphatically shown that we can only successfully tackle the coronavirus and the associated economic crisis with European solidarity, not with national egoisms. At the beginning, the EU member states did not stick together, closed the borders and didn’t help each other medically. Many people on the ground continued to work together, sang together on the balconies in the evening, showed solidarity online and helped their neighbours. We in Europe now need this cohesion politically and economically. Because we are in this crisis together and can only get out of it together.

 

That is why we – as convinced Europeans from Italy and Germany – are committed to a new culture of cohesion. After our broad Italian-German call www.weareinthistogether.eu the next step is this: We invite authors from Italy and Germany to a joint discussion on how they see Europe in the crisis, what they expect from Europe now, but also what they would like to contribute themselves. We invite you to be part of this discussion and to contribute your own ideas on
