ECON and TAXE chairs welcome presence of President Juncker in joint meeting
Chairman Roberto Gualtieri of Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and chairman Alain Lamassoure of the Special Committee on Tax Rulings welcome the fact that Commission President Jean Claude Juncker has decided to accompany Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs Pierre Moscovici to their joint meeting on 2 July.
Mr Moscovici had been invited to present the Commission’s package on fiscal transparency – due on 17 June – to the two committees.
„We have learned of Mr Juncker’s intention to come over to Parliament, together with Commissioner Moscovici, and we look forward to a fruitful exchange of views on this highly topical issue“, said Roberto Gualtieri and Alain Lamassoure in an initial reaction.
For Mr Moscovici it will be the second time to come to a joint ECON/TAXE meeting to speak about taxation issues. On 30 March he presented his proposal for mandatory, automatic exchange of tax rulings between member states.
