Phone press conference on the European Parliament’s ad hoc mission to Malta – 5 December – 9:30am

Sven Giegold, Member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs is participating in the European Parliament’s ad hoc mission to Malta today, Tuesday, 3rd December and tomorrow, Wednesday, 4th December. Amongst others, the Members of the European Parliament will meet with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, President George Vella and representatives of the Parliament as well as the Attorney General, representatives of the police, the family of the murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and investigative journalists of the Daphne project.

The EP delegation is investigating the state of the rule of law in Malta following Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s announced resignation and the further resignations in connection with the revelations of Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was murdered after exposing the corruption.
