After the Berlin summit on Greece, Greens/EFA economic spokesperson Sven Giegold said:
“The gun is pointed at Tsipras. After the Berlin summit on Greece excluding the Greek government Tsipras can now choose between do or die, bowing down or bankruptcy. Angela Merkel celebrates a German EU and makes everybody come for report to Berlin. Italy, Spain and smaller member states which all guarantee for the Greece programme as well are excluded from negotiations. The Euro Group is deprived of its powers, its president Dijsselbloem absent. The European Parliament and Bundestag were not notified neither on the process nor on substance. This is no European Democracy.
A Europe under German leadership without strong parliaments and equal rights for all member states will fail.”
