The Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) of the European Parliament currently works on its first annual report on the Banking Union. The report is supposed to bring the parliamentary control over the Banking Union and thus ECB and EBA to a new level.
After the quick introduction of the SSM and the SRM it is now time to draw the balance on what has been achieved so far and where there is need for changes. The report of the European Parliament is a welcome occasion to hint to the major problems and to make proposals for corrections.
