Dear colleagues and friends,
The Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) of the European Parliament is currently working on its position in regards to the Green Paper on Retail Financial Services.
After intensive regulatory work as a reaction to the financial crisis, it is now time to take stock on what has been achieved so far and where there is need for further action for private investors and small and medium sized enterprises. The report of the European Parliament is a welcome occasion to hint to the major problems and to make proposals for corrections. Our Green objective: financial markets must serve users and consumers.
